Sony’s New Vlogging Camera: ZV-1 II (ZV1 Mark 2)
Sony has just announced a new vlog camera to its lineup, the ZV-1 II. It is the second iteration of the popular ZV-1.
Here are some of the top line specs:
- 📸 Comes with 18-50mm-equivalent f/1.8-4 wide-angle zoom lens
- 📸1MP 1″ Exmor RS stacked CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processor for impressive image quality
- 📸 Side flip-out 3″ touchscreen so that you can see yourself while vlogging
- 📸 Features Product Showcase Setting, Background Defocus function, Soft Skin Effect, and Face Priority Auto-Exposure
- 📸 Cinematic Vlog setting that allows you to have cinematic looks done within camera
- 📸 S&Q shoot mode which allows a selection up to 5x slow or up to 60x quick motion
- 📸 Real-time Eye AF can automatically recognize and focus on [Human] or [Animal]
- 📸 Built-in ND filter to help in very bright light situations
The main difference between this iteration versus its predecessor is its wide-angle lens, which is very important in vlogging because you don’t want your face to fill up the full screen (blocks your whole scene 😒). Sony has also simplified various controls and settings such as defocusing the background, changing lighting color etc.
Price of the camera has been confirmed to be at USD$900 (SG prices are pending). For a full ready-to-vlog set with a mic, handle and extra battery, expect to shell out over US$1000.
The Sony ZV-1 II is a relatively easy camera to use, with ready-to-use videos out of camera. Just some simple cutting and editing and your video is ready to be uploaded.
Btw this camera also comes in white, if you don’t like the default (boring) black colour.
So is this camera a 👍or 👎for you?
